July 22, 2022 - An absolute joy to have this on the table! The colour looks truly stunning, bright, transparent ruby red, nose is rather refined and subtle, spice along with a hint of flower, red fruits dominated! Silky smooth palate, medium body, a lengthy finish, very well made!

January 29, 2022 - Tasted blind. Tannins here are very drying, it got better with a bit of air but surely they did not capture the potential of the 1995 vintage with this wine. Solid but the 1990 LFL is miles better.

January 12, 2022 - Past prime. Lacked bouquet that this wine should have. Midweight mouthfeel, relatively complex—more bramble than tobacco.

January 1, 2022 - Decanted and drank over two days. Medium body, some bricking. Opened somewhat after an hour of decanting. Black fruit compote and distant creosote wafts with swirling of the glass. Campfire smoke, fruit acidity and leather, in that order, dominate the flavor early on in the bottle. On day two, acidity, leather and smoke. Tannins are nearly absent. Overall, acidity dominates the experience, at least with this bottle. Recently purchased as a treat for the holidays from a highly reputable source. Expected so much more. A very poor QPR at present day prices, IMHO.

October 10, 2021 - At or near its apogee, the wonderful nose was classic mature Pauillac with earth, leather, dried berries, and pencil lead. Medium-bodied with silky texture, decent length and a savory, cedar-tinged finish. Delicious.

May 28, 2021 - Gang of 4 in Covid19 times; a celebration (@ My place): Dark berries like blackberries and cassis in the bouquet. On the palate a firm amount of good acidity and slightly drying tannin. Graphite, cassis and blackberries, great length. Beautiful, complex and mature wine.

May 21, 2021 - All I can say is, "Wow, wow, wow." This is an incredible wine that is drinking so nicely now. Beautiful supple tannins, tobacco leaf, minerality, complexity, soft fruit. It's all there. It's what I'd imagine what a perfect Bordeaux would be. 97 points.

April 24, 2021 - A evening of 20+ year old Bordeaux (Wilmette Harbor Club, Wilmette IL): Naturally this would unfairly come after it's big brother. The nose is still elegant and balanced with red cherries, cranberries, red currants, spice tones, cedar, sweet tobacco, roses, and some dried herbs. The Medium/full bodied feel carries through the elegance and balance while showing off silky, medium tannins and medium acidity. This is a wonderful and mature Les Forts. It shows off all of the hallmarks from the main wine, but just sized down if you will.
