May 22, 2016 - This wine reminds me why we age Syrah. Upon opening the unfiltered wine, a sludgy sediment promised good things. Somewhat light depth of color cast some suspicion. But one whiff of the powerful nose had me praising it out loud: a sublime mix of tobacco, cedar, and tar ... if that sounds unappealing, aged Syrah might not be your thing. Rings my bell. Like fine CorINthian leather! Some acidity carries the juicy, still-fruity palette. Long finish. My only lament is I don't have more.

April 30, 2011 - As others have indicated, there had to be some material problems with the production of this wine. $34 price tag notwithstanding, this sucked...and we have had plenty opf Syrahs...bed, mediocre, flawed, etc. It was not flawed in the sens of TCA, which we all know well.

This was in a class by itself. I tried to enter this on CT with a score of 42, but it was rejected as too low. I need to talk with Eric about this...

I was forced to open an ARCADIAN 2000 GARYS/O'Flemming and a 20003 HOLDREDGE LOVERS LANE to satisfy three cow-eaters, which they did very well.

December 30, 2010 - Medium red. Unusually herbaceous nose, of complex yet oddly-chemical notes, with green grass, rubber, bacon, compost, mint elements coming and going all at once. Medium high acidity, low tannin. Lean cherry fruit fights with unbalanced high acidity. My guess is young vine fruit, overcropped, under-ripened, perhaps even mis-adjusted in the winery; it's a very cool climate site. Not my style of syrah.

February 10, 2010 - Very vegetal and acidic with no fruit to support it. Surprised this one didn't last 9 years as I had high hopes for this bottle.

January 5, 2010 - I was a little worried after reading Whine-oh's review since I purchased this from the same Winebid batch. Surprisingly good with cherry and black berry fruit that improved over the hour it was consumed. Drink now.
