August 13, 2012 - I can't rate this at all because I've never had another Tocai Friulano before. Golden color, sweeter than I was expecting. Live and learn.

November 6, 2011 - Deep gold with strong legs. Honeyed flowers on the nose. Almost chewy mouthfeel, with palate of fullness, blending tangerines with pears, and a medium finish. Unique and special.

November 28, 2010 - Bellisimo! Upon opening, vinturi, then a look in the glass at the golden hue and medium body swirl. Initially, on the nose, a bit demure, but after a half hour wait, honeysuckle and autumnl leaves. Then the taste -- an attack of astingent citrus followed by ripe pears, and finally by honeycomb. Not actually sweet, but full and sumptuous in texture. Ultimately, a unique mineralogy distinguishes the finish of this luscious Friulano. I only wish I'd bought more.

January 30, 2010 - This started off unbalanced, too citric/acidic, but half an hour of air and warming up did wonders for it, floral notes coming to the nose, acidity coming into focus alongside some pear and tropical fruit, with a lovely almond note in the finish. Very nice.

January 21, 2010 - 100% Tocai Friuliano (10% late harvest). Grapes harvested at normal maturity are fermented in stainless steel tanks, while the late-harvested grapes are fermented in barrique.

On the nose, the Tocai Plus is powerful with ripe aromas. We find ripe melon and pear and the typical almond of Tocai Friulano.
