March 2, 2024 - Early Mar 2024, Rheingau Gourmet Festival, rarity diner “25 vintages of Chateau Montrose”: bottle immediately opened before consumption; dark brown red color; restrained nose of bread like aromas; sherry like flavors on the palate; slightly unbalanced texture.

Wine_Bear Does not like this wine: 75 points
October 29, 2015 - Wine was properly stored from acquisition in1970 until consumed. OK color, but the wine was over-the-hill. Damn. There were a few vestiges of what might have been, a hint of fruit, a touch of lushness... Wish we had opened it 20 years ago. Oh well, still interesting.

August 2, 2009 - From 375. Popped and poured at the end of the night. This particular bottle was enjoyable in the nondescript way wines get when they are well past prime. Subdued aromas on the nose. Smooth and expansive on the palate. Some air may have helped this, but it didn't last long enough to find out.
