January 1, 2018 - Let me start by saying that I have a bias toward older wine. This wine though only 12 years old but had told to me that it had been poorly stored in a kitchen cabinet for 10 years. So I am thinking it likely had accelerated maturation and could very well be like a 20 -25 year old merlot properly kept. Ok ...... so here are my notes :
Funky aroma with dog poop dominating scent and some vegetable. The mouthfeel is so melancholy and sweet. Immediate strawberry and then stale vegetables and then raspberry. Quite unique and I must say I loved it. Probably cheap but OMG how a mediocre wine could benefit from age. -

March 31, 2008 - for the price ( $10 in Ontario ) is is a good value and tastes consistent with Wine Spectator's score of 83 - nothing special - but for $10 - a good daily wine
