May 8, 2022 - Lots of leather, cedar, tobacco aromas and flavors. Limited fruit smell or flavors. Very dry. There is still some tannin left.
July 11, 2021 - Perfect day to drink it. It is luscious and full of ripe black fruits, chocolate, and fig, with a well developed bouquet. The tannins have transformed into velvet, and a perfect balance of acidity and body to leave a long, earthy finish. Beautiful wine, perfect age for it.
January 24, 2021 - Impressive nose, perfumed, dark fruits. However falls rather flat on the palate, still getting limestone minerality, as well as tertiary notes of leather, but not getting much else.
November 13, 2020 - A creamy jammy open and direct Bord, well rounded body and showing a non major year coming into its drinking window nicely
December 25, 2019 - This never really came around. Rather shy nose. Sour cherry palate. Oak influence on the finish. Tannins were rather dry and a bit coarse. Just didn’t step up to the pedigree.
December 24, 2018 - Drank a few bottles in a mixed British-French group. Everyone enjoyed it. Interestingly most of the French thought “nice, but getting on a bit“ and most of the British thought “nice, still a bit young“. I was probably somewhere in between. Lots of red fruit, plum and bitter chocolate with a moderately tannic finish.
April 28, 2018 - Ready to drink, don't wait if you have any, won't improve with anymore time - on the downside.
April 20, 2018 - Belle couleur rubis, pointe de graphite quelques senteurs de poivre & epice. Beau terroir bien mis en valeur.
Sur un millesime mediocre ça laisse reveur!
January 6, 2018 - Pretty nose of plums, blackberries, tar, licorice, spice with some subtle earth notes, palate feels a little light but it’s fresh and as good length
December 25, 2017 - A bit underwhelming from last time. Nothing wrong - an easy to drink and enjoy St Emilion - but a bit one-dimensional and lacked a wow factor. Will be drinkable for a number of years yet but doubt it will improve much.
