December 13, 2019 - A Splendid Pre-Holiday Celebration With the London Crew (67 Pall Mall): A bonus pour at the end of the night. Pure class. Notes of vanilla, almonds and apricot along with some mild herbs. Quite concentrated, with notable acidity and a very long finish.

May 7, 2016 - Pours deep dark amber. On the nose, orange zest, coffee and roasted nuts. On the palate, candied nuts, candied oranges, tangerine, coffee. Tastes sweet or dry depending on what you're eating with it.
The acidic finish goes on forever and makes you want to have another almond.

Magnificent complexity: You can seek out different flavors depending on what "angle" you're approaching it from. Every sip has new surprises.

This bottle stayed open for 6 months with little or no deterioration.

January 29, 2016 - A private dinner (Restaurant Alinea Madrid, Madrid, Spain): Classic, rich Bual nose, Brazil nuts and apricot, lovely woody notes, vanilla; sweet and concentrated palate, characteristic tangy (Oliveira) acidity, really nice bitters, great extract, long finish.

March 23, 2012 - Santa Cruz Mountains Day 2 (Rhys, Big Basin, Plumed Horse): Tasted non blind at a restaurant. The bottle was PnP'd. Nice aromas of caramel, citrus and a hint of spice. More of the same on the palate with a very long and slightly nutty finish. Very enjoyable. I dont have much experience with this wine and would have loved to see how it evolved over the evening but just had one glass.
