August 31, 2020 - Our last bottle, decanted off its sediment and served immediately. Aromas of plum, herbs, chocolate & florals. Softened tannins with flavors of dark berry fruit and herbal green qualities. This has always been a delightful bottle of cab franc.

March 28, 2020 - At fifteen years this is at the apex of its drinking profile and window, has life left but will not improve with further aging, dark garnet color, medium-full bodied, nicely integrated and balanced blackberry and black raspberry and tangy cherry fruits with notes of kirsch, mocha, tangy spices, sweet tobacco, hints of soy and herbs turning to a smooth pleasant lingering finish with nice balance of acidity and tannins.

September 26, 2015 - 4th Saturday Brown Bagger (Rich's & Dana's): Opaque inky crimson color with notes of coffee and dark fruit with a green, herbal overtone. Balanced, with abundant fruit and herbal/green Franc qualities on the palate. Lengthy finish. Easy to pick out as the Keenan knowing it was in the lineup.

March 30, 2015 - This is an outstanding domestic cab franc drinking at peak. Very dark, sappy garnet color. The nose is fully developed with a nice bouquet of chocolate cherries, cherry menthol, strawberry hard candy, green olives, basil, and hints of rosemary. The palate is medium-full and brings a nice mixture of ripe blackberries, dark cherries, blueberries, kirsch, sweet tobacco, soy sauce, herbs, and cherry cobbler baking spices. The finish is near perfect with delicate tannins, good acidity, and a nice kick of candied cherry sweetness. Drink now - 2018.

February 23, 2013 - What a great wine. So well integrated. One of the better California wines I have had in a while. It may be near its peak, but still has 4-5 yrs left at least.

February 10, 2013 - Fantastic Napa Cab Franc. Reminescent of a good quality High percentage Cab Franc St-Emilion.

Nose: Liquorice, plum, dark fruits, iron, violet and dust

Palate: Beautiful kick of dark fruits, liquorice, menthol and dust in the entrance. Then, some aged fruits and flower along with new leather comes in. The final is still tannic but fine grained and sweet.

    Great Wine !

    We all loved it !

November 10, 2012 - green and vegetal, rough tannins...a sad example of what should be a good wine.
