March 23, 2012 - This is the lightest colored Pinot that I have ever seen. It is closer to a Rose than a red wine. The nose is appropriate but the palate is thin and one dimensional. I'm really surprised they bottled and sold this as is.
March 11, 2012 - Tasted from decanter over 4 hours. Cherry, berry, and dark fruit with earth and forest floor. Medium-large bodied Pinot with a medium finish. Best glass was the last one.
June 14, 2011 - Day One I had trouble finishing my glass. Very ripe on the nose and on the front palate. Very disjointed on mid-palate and finish. Day Two and the components were better integrated but still too ripe for my tastes. Day Three was the best and reflects my score of 88.
February 20, 2011 - Big wine, rich dark fruit. Needs time in a decanter. Earthy aroma, strong.
April 29, 2010 - definitely an oregon pinot. a little barnyard on the nose, dark fruit and probably needs to be decanted still, needs some air.
February 6, 2010 - Can you smell sweet? This wine has a very present nose, brown sugar, orange zest, some herbalness but an umbrella of what I would call sweet smells. It is very light colored, almost rose like. Well California rose anyhow. Nice fruit flavors, a slightly bitter, herbal note and well balanced acidity. Moderately long finish. Mouthfeel was a bit thin at first but after only a few minutes in the decanter it seems to have thickened up.
January 28, 2010 - earthy boquet, drinking very nicely, still some power, good deep red fruit, good long finish.
December 24, 2009 - Yum!
October 26, 2009 - This wine is light in color but nice body and acidity. Drink now through 2012
September 18, 2009 - Cloudy in the glass and very distinct nose on day one. I liked the nose (some forest floor action) but wife did not care for it (reminded her of a fishbowl) but fortunately we both liked the taste though a little ripe. Day 2 the cloudiness was gone as was most of the nose but the upside was that it was more integrated with red fruits coming to the fore.
