March 29, 2024 - Bordeaux night: Another darker, lusher, and more extracted wine. The Parkerized wines also had the dried black fruit and chocolate qualities that I dislike.
November 7, 2023 - Corked
June 15, 2023 - Dark colour, little browning at the edge. Solid fruit and some cigar box evident. Medium-full palate with reasonable complexity, still good acid (which receded over a couple of hours) and enough tannin to hold the structure. Good length - overall an enjoyable drink.
May 29, 2023 - Delicious but at its peak
Still has good acidity body and flavors
Drink now and dont wait too long
May 23, 2023 - One of the best 2002s I’ve had from Bordeaux. Still has lively structure, almost youthful for its age, and is the most interesting i’ve had of this wine from that vintage and also the most interesting of that vintage from Bordeaux I’ve had. In general, I’ve found plenty of 2002s just a little boring, but this is a step above that. 3 (out of 5), a good representation for what it is, enjoyable but not enough to make me think of backfilling.
May 7, 2023 - Did not decant - medium bodied wine with muted fruit, currant and mineral characteristics - silky with a good finish.
Still holding up well.
March 26, 2023 - Fabulous producer. Wine still had a lot of life on it.
February 19, 2023 - Significantly improved since my last tasting in 2015. Beautiful nose right after opening and gains weight with time. Maybe a bit short but in perfect shape with no sign of oxidation whatsoever
December 29, 2022 - Wow. Served blind.
This certainly is one of the lushest and richest 2002s I ever tasted. No green streak or whatsoever, only a perfect pinch of rusticity. Dark fruit, mossy forestfloor, sandalwood and spice.
Beautiful.
November 29, 2022 - Left Bank Bordeaux and some Aussies: Opulent blackcurrant and graphite nose. On opening, acid sticks out on entry and dominates through the palate. With air, the acid integrates better and the fruit rounds out, balancing. A good Pauillac, however give this one plenty of air.
