Community Tasting Notes 5

September 30, 2013 - Extremely reductive upon opening. Took 2 days to properly settle and open up.
Linear nose of crystallized lemon, peach, dairy, aniseed, bisquits and sage.
Dry, crisp and medium bodied palate with rather moderate fruit expression for the vintage. Again a rather savoury array of gentle flavors in the aftertaste: brioche, aniseed, dried herbs and olive oil. Intriguing.
Very nice, but it really did take two days open to get there.

April 28, 2013 - Dry and well balanced with slightly effervescent mouth feel. Very nice aperitif. Drink or hold.

October 4, 2010 - Slightly fruity nose with notes of olive oil, mineral touches, herbs, nuts and cinnamon.
Dry with fine-grained acidity. Quite powerful and oily on the palate with good mineral presence and the distinguishing olive oil character in the lengthy finish.
    Very nice.

November 9, 2008 - Herbst-Präsentation deutscher Spitzenweine (Weinhaus Kinkelstuben, Oberkassel): Spätlese quality. Mirabelle in the nose. Typical Rheingau attitude, lemon, a lot of acidity, lacking harmony.

April 20, 2008 - Vinarius wine tasting: Fragrant nose. The palate is less complex than the 2006. There is a slight bitter element in the finish.
