October 8, 2019 - Kind of enjoyed this in moderation. serious alcohol, but went really well with flourless chocolate cake. Made for each other. In the end, wouldn't buy, but glad to taste
January 23, 2011 - I noticed a creamy mouthfeel with a definite vanilla flavor. This was the perfect finale to great dinner party with friends. This wine was a big hit!
May 17, 2010 - Tasted at winery with chocolate truffles. Have to say one of the best ports we've tried. Big taste with soft balance on long smooth finish.
May 2, 2010 - Sweet creme de casis and strawberries. Not syrupy nor cloying. Wonderful port.
January 30, 2010 - A massive hit with our dinner companions. Pefect partner to rich chocolate ganache cake. Like vintage port without as much sweetness, showing more berry fruit and cab sauv distinction, alcohol very much in check. Reminded me of a high alcohol, but balanced Martinelli zinfandel only done with Cab Sauv instead. Highly recommended.
November 18, 2008 - Extraordinary for sure. Cabernet port that explodes with sweet fruit but keeps balance and finishes very smooth. Not too syrupy, not too much alcohol, just special.
August 27, 2008 - An interesting way to finish an awesome tasting at Shafer in Napa Valley - port like dessert wine that was big and bold but perfectly in balance.
April 30, 2008 - Tasting at Shafer: A port-like dessert wine made from Cabernet, with dark berry and white pepper notes. Intense blackberry and dark fruit flavors on the palate.
