Community Tasting Notes 64

August 14, 2021 - A well-preserved Lapierre, not fading, with tasty red fruit, silky tannin, and very high acid, bordering on too much. Much better than a recent bottle of the MMVII, in fact. But I don't really see the point of having aged this: it hasn't developed anything to compensate for the diminished exuberance of the fruit.

November 24, 2018 - Doing what really good cru Beaujolais does after some time sideways: a pretty good Burgundy imitation. Silky, lovely texture, with a spicy nose that reminds you that this is gamay, not pinot noir. Brickish color, minimal sediment, probably in its downhill side but still providing a lot of enjoyment.

November 5, 2017 - Bright red cherry, floral, and mineral notes on the expressive nose and palate with wonderful acidity on the finish. Continues to drink well!

January 15, 2017 - Of the last 3 bottles consumed in 2016, 2 bottles were a point. Spectacular. The third was a bit tired.

January 7, 2016 - very clean and enjoyable, has a light fruit punchy quality (in a good sense)
