April 28, 2024 - A wonderful example of aged Coonawarra Cabernet, drinking beautifully. This was a magnum, sadly the last magnum in my cellar of this lovely wine from a fabulous vintage. If you have a 750ml bottle, I’d suggest drinking soon as this wine will probably not get any better from here.

January 26, 2024 - Still very much alive and kicking. Actually quite impressive

November 24, 2020 - Geez, this is so good and just barely getting started in its evolution. So much eucalyptus, pencil shavings, soil, currant, wet tobacco. Fresh, buoyant, youthful, serious, but easy to drink. This is how Cabernet is supposed to taste.

August 21, 2020 - Garnet/ruby color with some cloudyness, cork was soft and broke on opening. Beautiful aromas of cassis and herbs, leather and some forest floor/mushroominess. On the palate stewed plums, cassis, touch of licorice. Medium- alcohol and good length. Wine is in perfect shape and drinking in its prime now. Last bottle, wish I had more,

October 31, 2019 - Positive colour; capsicum dominates & does not dissipate, classic Coonawarra; lean, leafy, blackcurrant; attenuated finish. Drink soon

April 15, 2017 - Cork perfect. Color deep and and not brown. Opened, not decanted but sat in large Bordeaux glass for 30mins. Progressively unwound. Lots of body and character. Some eucalyptus but also some cigar box complexity. Even more complex the second night out of 375mm. Much improved over previous bottles I have opened.

March 2, 2017 - In a marvelous place just now, and with the help of previous notes that suggested as much, I think I got the aeration part just right - only 10 minutes in decanter before returning to bottle and serving it double-blind to the group about 4 hours later. Lots of guesses of BDX thanks to the lift and elegance, but also the aromas that included plenty of soil, pencil lead, minerals and sous bois. This has really classic lines and shows good structure, though I think if I had any more, I'd be inclined to drink them over the next ten years. A very fine drop. highly recommended

August 14, 2016 - Another terrific cork. Wine was aged in appearance. Typical varietal nose. Gave off scents of liquorice, chocolate, leather, juniper berries, cedar. The palate is fresh, with some fading red and blue fruits. There's still good intensity, tannins are fully resolved, lovely length. It's delicious to drink.

May 26, 2016 - Level in to the neck. Very sound cork, barely stained. Cedar, black fruits, star anise. Palate is medium bodied, sustained, fine and resolved. Long finish. This bottle was in terrific form.
