November 6, 2014 - Splash decanted. First impression of nose was overwhelming: pine cones, with evergreen forest floor. Over time hat faded some and other red and black fruit with tobacco came through.

Good wine today, but I got the impression that this is still short of peak. Try again next year.

September 27, 2014 - Just love this wine and great value. Really fresh and excellent medium body. Dense black and red fruit, great acidity, soft tannins but enough grip to be a journey. In a really good place after 1 he decant.

August 12, 2014 - Big wine, tasted as part of CT Seattle monthly tasting group and had a glass the following night. Real saline and iodine notes in the mouth, long finish. Seemed like a baby.

July 11, 2014 - Filling in w/the Friday Brown Bag Group (Mike & Judi's): Deep inky crimson color. Aromas of green tobacco, saddle leather, black currants, forest floor and earth. Medium-bodied with softened tannins and flavors of black & red currants, iodine, herbs and forest floor. Dark fruit and tobacco notes more dominant; leather and tobacco on the palate. Guessed 2000 Bordeaux. 94-95 pts.

At first, I'd not have guessed Pessac. I had set a glass aside though, and by the end of the second flight, the wine developed a dominant tell-tale road tar/scorched earth note. Just fantastic. Still a few years from peak drinking I think...perhaps 2019+. 95+ pts.

December 14, 2013 - this is good but not great. the tannins are still dominant and the fruit is a little suppressed. needs more time
