May 12, 2023 - Gone!
November 17, 2014 - Subtle nose. Smoke flavor with blackberries & cocoa with a mildly lengthy finish. Held up nicely to a MR Ribeye. Decanted for 1 hour. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed this wine and wish I had more in the cellar
August 7, 2010 - Pinot Tasting on the Lake (La Maison Gormet - Lake Mission Viejo): N: nice complexity, interesting
P: not good - there's a metallic taste wrapped around prune and lots of oak. Those three are not appealing to me on the best days.
F: DRY, DRY, DRY
May 25, 2010 - no tasting notes because it was over the weekend, but i think this is still drinking well.
March 5, 2010 - nice nose, tons of stewed prunes and dark berries, the palate is rich, fruit-focused, and delicious, plum stands out, blueberries, black cherries, and fig, very big and full of potent fruit
January 27, 2010 - Starting to find this overbearing and hot, though the tangy acidity is still present. Palate is now dominated by smoke and incense. Losing its balance.
November 28, 2009 - Drinking nicely. Solid stewed fruit and spice on the taste. Not sure how long this will age, but guessing another solid two to three years before peak. Really good blend.
November 25, 2009 - Not as bowled over by it this time, but it had a lot of self-made hype to live up to. The most impressive thing about this wine remains its balance. While being incredibly ripe and potent, dripping with dark berry fruit and clearly showcasing oak treatment, it is not overpowering. It remains light on its feet, with hefty acidity and a measure of grace. Medium-to-full body with a silky mouthfeel. Smoke and incense on the finish.
November 11, 2009 - Big and oaky but I like it. Nicely balanced. Nice length. Great mouth feel.
June 26, 2009 - A very nice surprise! I don't remember it tasting this good in the tasting room but it was a very nice blend with lots going on on the nose and in the mouth. Nice balance ... a very pleasant experience!
