May 21, 2022 - Retail $40. 100% Nebbiolo. Not the most expensive Barolo on the market (although I did see this 2004 online for $135--price gouge much?), but it is a solid effort and has aged quite well thus far. Much more bricking on the rim, with more tertiary notes developing: leather, un-smoked cigar, grilled steak. The fruit is pretty much non-existent at this point, but the acidity is alive and kicking, thank you very much with largely integrated tannins and a lengthy finish. I would not hold onto this all that much longer, however.

March 15, 2022 - As far as I am concerned this wine continues to underperform compared to other Barolos I have tasted. The flavor is not robust, there is no zing even with aeration. My prior purchases of the same vintage have been better, so I am not sure why I am this unhappy.

November 16, 2021 - 1st night this was really lean, acidic, tart, austere, so put a cork in it. Day 2 it was a bit better, very focused, high acid, spice, but really nothing that stands out for me.

August 16, 2021 - Ruby red, a bit of brick at the edges. The nose is intoxicating- forest herbs, licorice, mint, red fruit. Medium body, good fruit, but relatively light weight. Very little fine tannin. High acidity. Long finish. This is really gorgeous, mostly for the nose and the ethereal quality rather than power. I don't think this gets much better it strikes me as being at peak.
