August 2, 2023 - Rich, delicious apricot fruit, excellent structure, long finish
February 5, 2023 - This was great! so well balanced and plenty of life left, in a really good spot. really well made wine!
March 20, 2022 - Orange peel, tangerine, apricots, raisins, honey. Beautiful sweetness and good fresh acidity. Still a beautiful wine.
March 10, 2022 - Justin's let's try a lot of daily drinkers dinner (The Capital Grille Tysons, VA): What you would expect from this wine, apricot, big, thick, rich, bright acidity and etc. Super sweet but mouth puckering acidity prevents it from cloying. Delicious but I can only enjoy for a few sips.
October 2, 2021 - Amazing wine! My first ever of these graciously offered after dinner by Joel. First off, it's a chard with the most glorious salmon pink/peach coloring.....the nose and palate does not disappoint in any way. Beautiful, thick creamy mouthfeel without being over the top or syrupy. Perfectly balanced......long finish. Amazing! Thanks so much for this introduction, Joel. Very special.....
October 2, 2021 - Similar to prior note after PNP, then after an outstanding meal with Carol & Mark in Naples who were lovely & very gracious hosts! Outstanding, ready to drink
September 24, 2021 - UWS a random set of wines (@ JB): Orange peel, apricots, honey, peaches. Beautiful and concentrated with pleasant acidity. Beautiful wine.
December 6, 2020 - Holy wow. No formal notes but I had never enjoyed the pleasure of an SQN sticky. What a treat. And a thing into itself, with a light brown/toffee color in the glass, and cooked apricot, butterscotch, and other fun things jumping from the glass. Enjoyed very much!
September 18, 2020 - Candied apricots, burnt sugar, butterscotch, peach preserves on the nose. Palate not quite as interesting, a bit too much fireplace smoke. But delicious hints of coffee grounds, sweet baked pears and apricots. Unctuous, rich, and a little monolithic. Chardonnay? Maybe more gimmick than purposeful? I’ll add a bit to creme anglaise and caramel sauces, where it may be better utilized as a complex sugar, than drunk as a substitute for Amoroso or old sauternes.
August 9, 2020 - Exceptionally smooth, balanced, and luxurious mouthfeel. Honey and dried fruits. Syrupy mmmmm. Not as complex as I like for my dessert wines, but still a cut above average late harvest wines <$100.
Everyone at dinner loved it -- and it called for us bringing some cheese (Truffle Tremor) back out.
I liked this wine a lot, but I don't think I'd splurge on it again.
