January 23, 2016 - Sometimes I've found Pahlmeyer cab, (whose proprietary red and especially the Merlot I've loved over the years) seems to drink better young. Not the 2006. This is a big Napa cab, with elegance, structure, length, and evolution now showing as it moves into its second decade. Dark tooth staining purple, but some secondary notes, and more than enough there to go another 12-15 years and get better and better. I see more generous scores elsewhere, but to me a 92 is damn good. Got to leave room for the truly spectacular wines out there.

December 25, 2015 - Beautiful darkish fruit with lovely and generous blueberry highlight on the nose leaps from the decanter; decadent Napa fruit with a touch of white pepper/mineral on the palate. Delicious, but serious...although tannins beginning to round nicely since last taste over a year ago. Decant carefully; a generous amount of fine sediment needs to be left behind before you pour this with abandon! Wonderful... (this is a repeat of 7/2/14 TN)

November 9, 2015 - This has become very mellow with subtle, French-like Cabernet characteristics. The rough edges have disappeared and a beautiful, pure wine has emerged. Very nice nose and finish.

November 7, 2015 - No formal notes taken, had along side a Bone In Filet. Was a PnP, and have to say the bouquet was intoxicating. This mostly boasts Blue and Black Fruit. and definitely is in its drinking window. Only two complaints were that was a little lacking in the finish, and did not hold up when exposed in the glass. After about 1/2 hour started to show some sour or green notes, so this is not a candidate for decanting, in my opinion. I have a few others, so will see if this is just an off bottle, but if kept in the bottle and pour to consume quickly, it is fantastic.

November 1, 2015 - I have gone off Pahlmeyer for the last year as I just don't find them as integrated as I like. BUT, this was beautiful. Smooth and integrated. Decanted for two hours and great with cheese and biscuits.
