February 26, 2017 - Very smooth. But getting to the end of its life

October 26, 2015 - Going well. Plenty of fruit, some underlying fruity sweetness, powdery tannin. More plumb than classic Tahbilk but at the price and age I'm just not gonna complain. Grainy licorice to finish.

September 17, 2014 - {cork, 14.5%} Perfect looking cork; deep red/black still. Smells somewhat developed; but a touch baked and raisiny. Hint of tar? The palate has vestiges of primary blackberry/cherry fruit still, but with a warm alcoholic quality; as a high-alcohol, ultra-ripe wine in a Tahbilk bottle it feels a bit like a brawny footballer trying to squeeze into a suit for the annual awards night... So, some warmth on the medium/full-bodied finish; it has softening authentic tannins, a slight Ozzie eucaplyt/menthol hint, but it's a bit hollow on the mid-palate, especially for mid-Victorian shiraz. Rather hollow finish. OK wine, no more; I think this will probably keep a few years but without evolving or advancing in a way to justify much further cellaring.

March 17, 2013 - Inky purple. Hot and heavy. Dark plum and licorice nose. High acid, only moderate tannin. A bit baked. Pretty stagnant over a couple of days, suggests it would hold but cant expect it to improve.

January 4, 2013 - - Brick color - We consumed a bottle of this wine in March 2013 and it was definitely past it's prime. Depending on your cellar conditions etc, we'd recommend that you test a bottle to determine if it's become a drink now wine!
