    November 16, 2019 - Can’t let this baby go much longer. It is straining on the edge of over the hill. But still holding on. I have two more bottles and will kill ‘em this year yet.

    March 28, 2014 - My last bottle of this lucious wine, raspberry nose with lavender pepper and clove. Long finish very fruit forward with soft tannins, palate of black raspberry, spice, clove and hint of chocolate

    October 14, 2009 - Great little zin enjoyed last night with Asian food with CT wine buddy neighborbill and spouses. Urban East Bay winery with outsourced grapes from a single vineyard in the Dry Creek Valley. Very dark wine, well balanced, pleasant lingering aftertaste, drinking great right now. Muted nose with dark fruit and spice, primary flavors softer and more complex then expected with black pepper up front and subsequent plum, all spice and black currant. Very good, definitely recommend this wine, a great QPR wine.

    June 29, 2009 - Exceptionally drinkable. Rrich dark purple color with strong legs, full fruity nose with spice/pepper and alcohol (although not overly high in alcohol in taste and affect), on the palalte, very fruit forward with rich full prune/plum, low tannins, rich, long and very smooth finish with pleasnat spice and pepper.

    January 10, 2009 - I'll be the first to say that I'm not the biggest zinfandel fan, so my rating is probably reflective of that rather than a true impression of this wine vs other zinfandels. Hits you over the head with oak, vanilla and spice upon opening. Jammy, stewed red fruits with more spice. A nice pairing with BBQ, but not something I would choose to drink on a regular basis.

    January 10, 2009 - Huge nose of sweet fruit and creamy oak on this. On the palate, distinctly brambly and spicy. I mean, really spicy, like fresh black pepper and cayenne and so forth. But really nicely offset by the creamy oak and the intense fruit. We had it with bbq and one of our friends observed that he couldn't tell when the spiciness of the sauce stopped and the wine started, calling it a "seamless" pairing. And it was. Only flaw is a touch of heat, but --at 14.5% abv-- this is practically restrained for the genre. Seems likely that this would improve with another year or two in bottle, too. 90+.
