June 1, 2018 - developed nose that's a little reminiscent of the 08 Lopez Gravonia from few days ago. Some notes (along the lines of wax?) i interpret as oak, but could just be my mis-calibrated understanding of oak all along. There's still the unmistakable beguiling florality and some pungent minerality, but maybe shown with less clarity compared to a young riesling. Immensely fruity, creamy, concentrated palate. Almost a hedonistic style and a contradictory one because of the acids, that can still make you pucker despite the good amount of sugar. 91-92

was so excited for my first riesling with a good age on it. But side by side with 15 St. Urbans-Hof Ockfener Bockstein Kabinett not sure if i clearly prefer one over the other.

April 22, 2017 - This wine had a light yellow center and clear rims. This smelled pretty nice from the first pour. However, it showed a lot more the next day which is a good sign. The high- intensity nose displayed lemon peel, pear, slate, and that riesling funk.

In the mouth, this wine had nice fruit but was relatively light bodied. It had good acidity and some length.

This is a nice wine that will easily last 10 years. However, I doubt it will get better, only different.

May 18, 2016 - Great wine, drinking so well right now, with all the virtues of the vintage. Juicy and bright acidity. Still a quite young profile despite nine years of age.

February 17, 2014 - Fantastic wine right now. Paired great with spicy Viet food. Out classed a GC Chablis and out did a '07 Suidurat that followed it up with some Stilton. The Spatlese was sweet, crisp acidity with so many well rounded apple, pear, white peach with white florals exhibited on the nose. The fruits and stony mineral made for a great mouthfeel and a long finish. Sadly this was my last bottle but so good.

September 15, 2013 - Lovely golden. Crisp fall apple aromas. Tangy palate and a very long finish. Wonderful at less than $20 per bottle.

January 12, 2013 - Saturday with David White (Domaine Wine Storage & Sun Wah - Chicago, IL): Definitely punches above its price point. Nice tropical character - peaches, pears, mangos fold together seamlessly. The lychee and mineral notes were really buzzing on the finish. Great length, and complexity...a really nice wine.
