January 31, 2015 - Another great bottle -- even better than one opened two years ago. On the nose, blueberry, lavendar, black pepper, jalepeno and a lovely dill note. Palate unfolds with blueberries cut with jalepeno and pepper, with a hint of earth. Decent tannic backbone, but nevertheless very quite soft and approachable. Excellent.

February 10, 2013 - This was unexpectedly excellent. Deep aromas of currant, blueberry, and flowers lead to a smoothly balanced effort, intermingling red and blue fruit offset by a pleasant herbal note. The tannins -- previously very grainy and overpowering -- have now mellowed into the wine, leading to good structure without any drying note. Decent acidity and a long finish. Nice.

January 20, 2011 - Deep red. Great nose with only a touch of American oak. Lush fruit and some earth in nose. Slightest hint of petrol in the nose, adds to complexity and not a detractor. A hint of herbs or maybe eucalyptus - not sure. Big fruit on the entrance, smooth but big tannins, then mouth filling cab flavors. Big body, some alcohol awareness. very nice finish that does go on a while.
This wine is as good as the last 4 bottles I've had since 2006. Wish I had more so I could age it another couple years. This is a big wine and youthful still. if you have some, keep a bottle at least 4 more years just so you can tell me what I missed out on.
Served with Pork that was rubbed with sage, lemon-pepper and dill. Gorgonzola and bread on the side.
I could give this wine a 92 without trying but I'll stick by the 91 point score for now - it could have had a bit more complexity in the mid palate....

December 9, 2009 - Wow, this is absolutely delicious Napa juice. Full of rich, concentrated black fruits, chocolate, and a finish that just keeps on going. Well balanced, with large grained tannins that make this wine bust out, but there's so much fruit and stuffing that it's all well in control. This is nothing like most Cab Francs from around the world, but it is a beautiful wine, and really expresses Napa and what it's about so well. Very primary still, this doesn't taste like a 7 year old wine. It's got at least another decade of delicious drinking ahead. 93-94

December 20, 2007 - Popped & poured. On the nose dark plum, leather and a touch of alcohol. Full bodied, earthy, black olive & truffle, more leather notes & tobacco & black fruits. Terrific finish.
