Community Tasting Notes 1

August 27, 2008 - This one got better after sitting on the counter over-night. We didn't vacuum seal it, but did stopper it. Deep color. Almost opaque. Heavy flavors. It has a bit too much oak for me, but that's par for the course with a lot of these Aussie wines in my experience. Notes of black cherry, anise, even cinnamon... A bit hot on the finish. Oak gives way a bit in the end to more fruit flavors. Not a bad bottle for the price. - As a side note, my wife an I have flip-flopped on this one. I liked it much better than the 2 Buck Chuck Merlot that we just had, but she didn't like this one much at all. Guess it's all in what an individual's palette likes...
