April 13, 2016 - Dense purple color showing no signs of bricking. The nose lacked expressiveness. On the palate forest floor and spice and rich dark fruits. Medium bodied. A delicious wine, but maybe not the best vintage?

Drank with steak dinner before Kobe Bryant's last game--in honor of Kobe, who played his first game when this wine was just harvested. Should have had Kobe beef . . .

December 9, 2015 - Incense, smoke, licorice blackberry and plum aromas are all over the place. The wine is soft, polished and almost feels as if it’s holding something in reserve. But I am not sure further aging is at the end of the day, going to reveal anything new. This is probably fully mature.

April 15, 2015 - Amazing nose, gobs of fruit, in its prime drinking window yet hardly showing age. Structure is still there but tannins are nicely integrated. Hard to not love this wine if you like Napa style.

February 28, 2015 - Decanted. Drank over 5 hours. Nose was stingy but expressive with slate and blackberry currant. Light/medium body with velvety mouthfeel and completely integrated tannic structure and smoothness. A fantastic experience altogether for this 20 year old beauty. My guess is that this vintage still has the chops to cellar for some years to come. Happy Birthday to me. :)
