December 25, 2016 - It tastes like mineral, black currant (cassis) and blackberry. The legs are medium. The wine looks garnet colored. There is light sediment in the bottle.

March 6, 2016 - Still had several more years left in the bottle. Not fading by any means One of the best bottles of wine I have ever had. Lovely fruit, silky smooth tannins, long finish, what more could you want.

March 5, 2016 - Clarified purple hue. Intense nose of juicy plums, blackfruits, barnyard, old woods, abundance of earthiness. Dry, full bodied high acidity. high, refined tannins. Medium plus alcohol. Intense flavors of blackberries, chocolate, plums, plums skins, baking spices, gamey, vanilla, leather, meaty and savoury mushrooms. Hints of rubber/tar. Great finish. Very well made. Favorite Col Solare.

February 27, 2016 - Drank with rib roast and boiled potatoes. Really quite good. Someone told me that this is the Washington State Opus One. Not true, but enjoyable anyway.

(Col Solare Col Solare Columbia Valley) A very different wine than the 2006 with more fruit aromas and tastes, including blueberry and blackberry, along with pencil shavings, a touch of vanilla, and a light floral bouquet. An elegant wine that is still built to last. 71% Cabernet; 25% Merlot; 4% Cabernet Franc. 14.5% alcohol. 7,000 cases produced.
