November 16, 2014 - Decanted for 30 minutes. Drinking very well now. Great QPR wine

    August 29, 2014 - mmm... wonderful wine. 93 with a positive prospect to 94.
Opened it on Friday night to celebrate the long weekend. (was concerned that other good wines we had recently would make us depreciate this one, but...big mistake :-) ) This one is getting better and hold very well open even almost 24 hours after. Actually, the natural decant is very good for it.
    Detailed tasting notes will follow.

(Third time since 2012, and still very good :-) )

August 9, 2014 - This wine needs a long decant to open up. Only gave it 2 hour decant with Vinturi and still bitter and closed. Re-corked and opened up two days later and poured and drank, and it sings. Well made wine with french flavor profile.

July 13, 2014 - Brilliant ruby, offering a roasted, peppery bouquet of cassis, blackberries, fresh pine, lavender, hard candy, graphite, and a whiff of acetone. The palate is long, nicely integrated, with a dense consistency, and a ferrous quality that is very attractive. The black fruit and Asian spice flavors display the perfect amount of sweetness and the finish is laced with a tasty, Sichuan peppercorn spice. At its best and showing very well, especially with a decant.

July 3, 2014 - Agree this is at its peak. Served with smoked pork shoulder. Delicious out of the bottle and even better an hour later!

(Col Solare Col Solare Columbia Valley) A very different wine than the 2006 with more fruit aromas and tastes, including blueberry and blackberry, along with pencil shavings, a touch of vanilla, and a light floral bouquet. An elegant wine that is still built to last. 71% Cabernet; 25% Merlot; 4% Cabernet Franc. 14.5% alcohol. 7,000 cases produced.
