October 18, 2010 - Dark berries on the nose with a bit of spice. Palate has a leathery note, full and rich with big fruit, and well balanced acidity and a touch of tar. Quite pleasurable.

August 2, 2010 - Dark Berries and leather on the nose. Palate is rich, full of fruit, somewhat less acidic than before. I think has reached it's peak and should be drunk now.

June 19, 2009 - This has matured wonderfully. Intense and rich and subtle nose of weirdly clean-smelling road tar and blackberries. Taste is a lovely balance of dark fruit, tarry notes, bright acid quite up front, and still significant tannins. Very drinkable and mature, and certainly still good for a year or more.

February 10, 2008 - Better than the last bottle a few weeks back. That one made me decide to move on this one now as I don't think they will hold up much longer. This bottle didn't have the funk of the last one. Very enjoyable typical rustic Rufina flavors. Simple cherry flavors with some earth. Tasted better than it smelled. The 2001 Felsina Chianti Classico is not nearly as evolved as this wine is.

May 26, 2007 - I agree with JWG. Very nice bottle of Rufina. Have had other vintages that are equally as good.

April 7, 2007 - Again like the bottle a couple months ago, rich nose of berries, floral notes, some tar and earth. Tart taste that slowly gets very dusty tannins after getting aired out for a while. Lovely

February 5, 2007 - Great nose of dark berries, floral, leather and a bit of tar. Soft on the approach, it quickly builds to a very berry, tart, and then somewhat tannic end. Very dusty end. Delicious.
