August 18, 2016 - Finally a drinkable bottle! PnP, but improved over first 30 minutes by adding some weight. Plenty of lemon and stony minerality, along with some white flowers and just a touch of honey. A really nice wine -- when it's not oxidized. I would suggest drinking sooner than later.

August 18, 2016 - Oxidized--Second of what became three bottles to find one drinkable. Purchased six bottles at auction from Acker Merrall, and have three left. Caveat Emptor re: white Burgs pre-2009 or so.

August 16, 2016 - Final bottle and it feels a bit tired. Like the previous bottles it is light for Les Clos, but with the requisite crisp acidity, a cool mineral core, lemon zest and a hint of salted butter. However, the fruit has developed soft notes of spiced yellow apple and spiced ripe pear that take away the precision and length and seem to indicate a lack of energy and loss of grip. Jancis Robinson already noted in April 2015 that this was on its way down, and she was right, but in Les Clos I am really looking for more longevity. Drink up.

July 22, 2016 - Paired with BC oysters at Bistro Pastis in Vancouver. A perfect match. This wine is full enough to match the oysters fleshiness and its sea shell aromas and flavors are so complimentary. Grand Cru indeed! Courtesy of Seaquam.
