March 27, 2016 - 1990 Baroli and others: Served blind. Light gold. Double decant then four hours air. No one picked the wine as a Chablis. Still, a high quality Chablis, very 2007. Reduction on opening. Bouquet of green apple, pears, grapefruit and some steel. Not a lot of minerality and no spice or exotic fruit nuances. On palate, fairly primary, tasters were picking it as younger than 2010 (2012?). Prominent acidity. Serious cut. Green apple, lime juice, greengage and grapey, with real phenolic punch. Serious structure and fruit weight. Finishing with a little phenolic bitterness (which I didn't mind). Very dry, improved by the food. The next day it was drinking exactly the same. Good bottles like this are not at their peak yet and have many years ahead of them.

March 27, 2016 - Brilliant. Yellow with a touch of gold. Knockout nose of silex and white flowers. Chalk, mineral and rocks on the palate. Has rounded out a bit but still plenty of cut. Outstanding chablis. Wish I had another.

January 24, 2016 - Light yellow; nearly the color of a barrel sample. It took nearly an hour for the reduction to blow off, but once it did, aromas of sea spray and lime were accompanied by a medium-bodied, intensely mineral wine loaded Granny Smith apples and lemons. The powerful mod-palate was accompanied by a very long finish with tremendous persistence and cut. A great wine in the making here -- the essence of Chablis! 95+.

December 18, 2015 - Monthly group Holiday tasting (Il Foro): A delightful aged Chablis that is performing well right now. This went great with raw tuna.

December 13, 2015 - Annual Tasting Group Holiday Party (Il Foro, Mpls, MN): Very small pour. Another lovely Chablis, elegant and fine, clean sea shell minerals, light citrus and white fruits, lighter body. Excellent.
