January 9, 2024 - No mistakes, fresh, elegant sweetness and freshness, a real good vintage port wine.

January 7, 2024 - Last of a case and one of the best of an infuriatingly variable lot. Still pretty deep and good punchy fruit. No heat. Good plus, if not quite superb.

November 23, 2023 - By the glass. Traditionally tasty, this particular harvest favors this vintage wine. Sandalwood with notes of liquorice root, Christmas flan and Xixona nougat nose. Length and warmth in the mouth. Unsurpassed. Portuguese style to satisfy not only Iberian taste but expand the spectrum to become universal. Irresistible.

Irresistible.

May 27, 2023 - Colorado Memorial Day Tasting; 5/26/2023-5/27/2023 (Longmont, Colorado): Medium purple in color. Floral notes and cassis, and red fruits on the nose. Nice entry with some primary blackberry and black plum on the palate. Great structure, with well-balanced tannins and acidity. Long finish with some dark fruits and chocolate notes arriving late.

January 2, 2021 - Delicious, well made, Vintage Port that ticked all the right boxes and was in line with my expectations. Decanted for 7 hours and still virile. Tannins completely resolved. In a good place in my opinion. Many years still left, but I'd be surprised if it got better

March 7, 2020 - Ninth bottle from a case purchased in 2000, pristine condition. Very similar in character to my previous tasting note from March 2018, but this one is considerably hotter on the finish, with a touch of eucalyptus. Holds up well over a week in the open bottle, so no real hurry.

May 7, 2019 - For once a squeaky clean bottle of this. The best in years. Plenty of fruit. The cork is quite short. Doesn't quite reach the heights.

January 24, 2019 - VT94 Port Horizontal: Intense nose but quite developed flavors. Creamy texture but lacks acidity. Dusty and packed with almond flavors but very little fruit.
    Seem very mature.

December 25, 2018 - Decanted at 1.30pm, bottle cleaned for sediment and then poured back in its bottle. Consumed between 8-9pm.
Absolutely delicious glass of Port, though not outstanding. It is entering it’s plateau of maturity and is nicely resolved without being tired at all. Decanting helped resolve a little heat, not much, and to my palate perfectly acceptable from a 20 abv drink. Nose displays rich, dark fruits and berries, plums, blackberries and of course candied berry notes. Additionally, there is quite a pronounced element of anise/licorice and some cane sugar. The palate is still somewhat fresh and the RS is dialed back, so the wine comes off as only medium sweet. Both nose and palate is medium to med+ intense, absolutely decent but not great. I like everything about this wine basically, its just a solid quaff and who wouldn’t enjoy it? Just keep your expectations in check

August 6, 2018 - I agree with absolutely everything Xavier has said about this bottle and the case I've slowly worked my way through--3 remaining--only I think this isn't a great wine even at best ( of which this bottle is fortunately one of the better) so can't give it 90 points.
