June 10, 2017 - Not my favorite SQN but still pretty tasty. Consistent with the last few bottles I drank. A bit too alcoholic on the nose and the mouth though the strong SQN bones are still lurking below.

May 12, 2017 - First ever SQN... pop and decant. Intoxicating nose from the get go. Exotic. Very perfumed. Almost no sediment. Purple-inkish in colour. Very full bodied & decadent but incredibly balanced at 15.5% and 11 years of age.

April 23, 2017 - beautiful black fruit profile, with a beautiful nose of blackberry, black cherry, tea, smoke, asian spice, and light violet notes. The tannins are a little lighter than i was expecting here. Nice acidity on this carries the alcohol well into a long finish.

February 19, 2017 - Kleur: Diep opaak donker rood. Aroma / bouquet: Verleidelijk bouquet. Voor een SQN-wijn een meer klassiek Syrah-bouquet. Donker fruit, bramen, zwarte bessen in combinatie met donkere kruidigheid, maar ook met frissere kruidigheid zoals verse mint en basilicum. Smaak / Afdronk: Typische SQN-vulling. Wat een indrukwekkende concentratie. Zachte zuurgraad, krachtige maar zijdezachte tannines, subtiele alcohol-zoetigheid. Kracht in combinatie met elegantie. Pruimen, zacht zoete drop. Mooi geintegreerd hout. Algemeen / potentieel: Briljante SQN Syrah. Indrukwekkende wijn! 50 + Kleur: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 13 + Smaak / Afdronk: 18 + Algemeen / potentieel: 9 = 95/100

    Google Translate:

Color: Deep opaque dark red. Aroma / bouquet: Seductive bouquet. For SQN wine a more classic Syrah bouquet. Dark fruit, blackberries, black currants combined with dark spiciness but also fresher spices like fresh mint and basil. Taste / Finish: Typical SQN-filling. What an impressive concentration. Soft acidity, strong but silky tannins, subtle alcoholic sweetness. Strength combined with elegance. Plums, soft sweet licorice. Nicely integrated wood. General / potential: Brilliant SQN Syrah. Impressive wine! 50+ Color: 5 + Aroma / bouquet: 13 + Taste / Finish: 18 + General / potential: 9 = 95/100

January 2, 2017 - Dark, black fruit, powerful nose, real Syrah...little depth and length though...
