December 7, 2014 - A day of lots of SQN and a few more!; 12/7/2014-12/9/2014 (Loretta Paganini School of Cooking and the Woods of Newbury): Very nice showing for this bottle. Purple in color. The nose has black raspberries, grilled meats, black licorice and black pepper. Full bodied. Intense black raspberry fruit on the palate. Some underlying charred wood, black pepper. Nice balance. Long finish.

October 25, 2014 - My second, and last bottle, which was excellent - but not quite as good as the first, which I chalk up to the lack of decanting. The nose had a touch of meatiness to it, with a hint of white pepper. The mouthfeel, while nice, was a bit short for an SQN.

October 3, 2014 - The top pick in a tasting of eleven 'big reds'. Dark blackish ink colored, full bodied, complex, big ,bold, rich layers of dark blackberry and black cherry fruits accented by hints of blueberry and plum, creosote, mocha and spice with tones of anise and pepper turning to a thick tongue coating tangy chewy tannin lingering finish.

October 1, 2014 - Very raven. Lots of beef, charcoal and ripe dark fruits lifted by some juicy acidity. Ling and balanced and everything I expect.

September 19, 2014 - Charleston III - the Weekend; 9/18/2014-9/20/2014 (Charleston SC - various locations incl. Red Drum, Halls, Circa 1886, and Kings Courtyard Inn): Popped and poured and as you might expect this started out a bit on the tight side. Slowly began to open up though and was one of those beautiful SQN wines where there's so many flavors it's impossible to keep up. Explodes on the palette and definitely not for the faint of heart. We had this last year in Charleston as well and I think it's progressing nicely. Appreciated this time being able to let it sit in the glass a bit longer before drinking as the air really helped it come together.
