May 23, 2015 - Lovely nose of candied fruit, dusty wood, hints of buttery cinnamon pie crust, yet with fantastic notes of brine and olives. Great dimension. On the palate comes thick dark velvety ripe fruit, slight espresso. Fat in the mouth, yet with just enough tannin to sing through. Finishes long and lively, yet with the caress of a warm smokey fire.
March 1, 2015 - Another great bottle. Tons of olive tapenade filled the room upon opening. Heavy in the mouth, flavors of olives, smoky meat, red fruit and spice. Long, satisfying finish. No heat, just smooth and delicious. If scoring 92-94.
February 27, 2015 - I understand how many could like this, but I agree with the folks who say it is heavy, hot, and overdone. It is booze. Not my style. Not worth the $12.
December 26, 2014 - Purple center with a violet rim. Red-fruited with raspberry and cherry coupled with earthy notes and cloves. Medium-bodied with good acidity and a silky mouthfeel. Initially, it was not as giving as expected, but with air, it opened beautifully. Overall, I enjoyed watching this wine evolve throughout the evening and provide ripe fruit and spice as well as a touch of structure for good measure.
August 28, 2014 - Maybe the best bottle of $12 wine I've ever had. Bought 16 of these when the state monopoly store put them on sale. Each and every one has been outstanding. Three left. If scoring 92-94.
June 23, 2014 - Plenty of fruit and heat in this heavy bodied wine. Candied cherries dominate with some strawberry jam notes. There is a tobacco or twiggy flavor. A bit overdone for me.
March 1, 2013 - Decanted 4 hours prior to drinking. If this, my last bottle, is a true representation of this wines development, then drink them quickly. The once brash fruit was withered leaving only dry earth and tannin in its demise.
December 10, 2012 - Another great bottle of McPrice Myers Grenache! Blackberry, leather and licorice. Medium mouth feel. Smooth finish. If scoring 90-92.
October 30, 2012 - Didn't enjoy this bottle as much as the first two. Maybe because mrs. dontime was out-of-town? Seemed a bit on the harsh side. Still complex and a great value. If scoring 88-90.
