  January 16, 2009 - What a disappointment! I love the Gigondas from this producer, one of the best that I have had, but this, for the most part was a tart, simple, and a bit manufactured. The fruit never tasted like one from a quality producer. It was always a bit like the winemaker was trying to make it something that it wasn't. Like something very cheap. Unfortunately, that's all this is, is a very cheap and uninspired wine. It definitely improved from the pop at around 4:30 to the final glass at around 9, but it never become more than the simple fruit, pepper, and spice that even the most basic of CdR's can crank out. So sad coming from a producer that I respect quite a bit. Even at $10, I know of quite a few alternatives that are much more enjoyable.
