May 17, 2023 - This bottle was purchased at the winery upon release. The 2003 vintage characteristics have faded and the appellation is showing through along with the typicity of the winery. Lovely wine. No advanced sign of age. Beautiful PV Ile aromatics.

August 20, 2018 - I found this bottle at closeout at Flickingers. It was very nice, enjoyed it more than my prior review. Nice delineation and balance. I found this bottle more restrained. Thoroughly enjoyable.

January 8, 2017 - Despite its relatively low alcohol levels, the fruit comes off fairly ripe, with a big burst of dried red cherries and a slight stewiness to the palate; There are some secondary notes of earth and spice although they take a backseat to the ripe red fruits; A commendable effort in a difficult vintage, although I think this is starting to fade

October 10, 2016 - I always like this wine and I agree with some of the other notes - this is a good 2003. Nice full nose and fruit forward for this maker. Not bad, but it does not have the drive of the better vintages. Gets better with air. This wine always needs considerable time in the bottle and then decanting to be at its best, so perhaps it could improve, but I do not think it has the structure to age like the better vintages. This vintage would probably appeal more to California pinot drinkers as it is softer and less tannic.

September 15, 2016 - I very much enjoy this wine in off vintages, so it was interesting to try it from a hot vintage. It is atypical, but still has PV qualities. A hint of California style fruit, but still more balanced than a Cali Pinot that is double the price. Thankfully there has not been any more years like this.

February 12, 2016 - Great nose - fruit, floral. Palate - red fruit (cherry), floral, nice spice, slight earth. Strong minerality. Good acidity. Needs an hour or so of air. Probably still needs more time but really enjoyable now.

January 2, 2015 - A delicious yet ultimately rather simple, mature, ripe Burgundy. The elegance of the site was there but the complexity was not.

October 27, 2014 - I enjoy this style of wine. Bright, strawberry fruit is nicely balanced by earth. Color is a beautiful electric red. The nose and palate have so much juicy promise. He attack is equally promising as the light weight favors are full of fruit. Unfortunately, things do not finish well. There is a bitterness that really hurts the overall impression of the wine. Too bad as the weight and fruit are super. (86)

March 31, 2013 - Initially a nose of wet, old and dusty cellar. Fortunately, with time in the glass, these notes disappeared and gave way to dusty cherries and earth. The palate was dominated by tart cherries. Light bodied wine. In my view this wine has passed it's prime, but is still enjoyable.
