March 7, 2024 - PnP: Black/Red color, very dense. Very refined and expressive on the nose, charcoal and cherries all over the place. Same on the palate. There's some residual sugar that - for me - is atypical for the vintage. Very dense impression, vertical pressure on the palate. Fine tannins that last to a beautiful long ending...Very positive surprise and extraordinary QPR. Best 1 hour after PnP! 93-94 pts.

May 20, 2023 - This is mature and at/past peak. Decanted at dinner time and had a very nice glass with dinner. Decent fruit and tannins resolved. Had to run out for 2-3 hours and then returned wine to bottle, corked it and put it in the fridge. Drank 2 nights later and wine wasnstill solid but fruit a bit faded. My take is time to get drinking and keep your decant moderate

May 16, 2021 - About 1h opened before drinking. 13% Alc., dusty deep red Bdx. color. On the nose open, black fruits, some plum, basil, precious woods, cinnamon with very good depth. Soft mouthfeel, creamy, milk chocolate, good fruit, primarily black- and piedmont cherries, fully mature, very good balance, animating to drink, depth, complexity, good length. A noble drinking experience, 95 Pts.

August 11, 2019 - Crimson in color. 13% ABV. Stunning nose of red fruits, leather, cigar box and graphite. Warm and supple with perfect acidity. Nice balance between fruit and tannins. Cassis, currants, truffle, plums and earth on the palate. The finish is exceptionally long and silky. Outstanding Bordeaux from an overlooked vintage that thoroughly exceeded my expectations. I wish I had more bottles left. Terrific right now but the structure is here to cellar for another 2-4 years.

December 17, 2016 - Regular dinner group (@ MH): Strange; the bouquet doesn't show much PnP. There is some cassis and bell pepper though. On the palate red and dark berries, good acidity, bell pepper, rustic and earthy, slightly sticky tannin and a bit drying in the finish.

November 26, 2016 - Corked... again. Seems that more bottles are corked than not of this wine. Most unfortunate.

February 11, 2014 - Opened a couple of hours before dinner but no decant or slow ox. Similar to prior note....nice 92-93 point wine but fruit purity and finish could have been a bit sweeter and finer. No rush.

September 23, 2013 - Wine, Browns and my 55th Birthday (My Home): This had been opened the day before and was from a 375 poured off and stored overnight. Purple in color. The nose is nice with dark cherries. Ripe fruit on the palate, but with a bitterness I find in many 01's (I know I am in the minority). Still, I like the wine and it is in a very nice place right now.
