November 12, 2020 - Along with Danny, celebrating Estie's birthday at home. We have take-out from China Village in Albany. Medium yellow in color. Aromatics of white stone fruit. White nectarines, poached pears and a bit of citrus on the palate. Bold. Nice sweetness-acidity trade off. Good finish. Certainly an excellent companion with our dinner.

July 17, 2016 - Urobilin yellow. Petrol, white flower, and peach aromas. Rich and oily in texture, this lacks the acidity and structure of great vintages (which 2003 decidedly is not) but nonetheless has aged quite well.

November 5, 2011 - A weekend with friends in Germany Mosel area: Part 3: Beautiful bouquet with smoke and minerals. On the palate a touch of petrol. Good refinement and a lovely balance between acidity and sweetness.

November 5, 2011 - Dreamtasting #3 (Bernhard Eifel Restaurant, Trittenheim): Not the most complex or cerebral wine of the evening, but this wine made a good impression because of its freshness and weightlessness, which is an admirable achievement in this vintage (I gambled on a 2005 Mosel spätlese). Botrytis is hardly perceptible (if it's in there?). With its impeccable balance in acidity and sweetness, it is very hard not to swallow this wine. Good stuffing, exotic flavor, fine acidity. Yum. 17.5/20

October 18, 2008 - Rich, unctuous texture and a nose of flowers, peaches, and pineapple; rich fruit, with soft acidity and a clean but long finish; definitely for after-dinner, but the balance of richness and cleanliness is very enticing

December 2, 2007 - Curious about this bottle. We opened this after dinner. Aromas of nectarine, white peach, some pear, citrus, and a dose of botrytis funk- if this is in a closed phase, I shutter to think of it mature. On the palate- ripe pineapple (canned in light syrup), sweet but not cloying, and balanced acids. Really tasty. Not a lot of elegance, but for the $30 I paid, this QPR through the roof. I'm looking at the empty bottle now-- I already miss this wine.

February 10, 2005 - An impressive wine. Nose of wheat mixed with flowers. Beautiful peach and other sweet fruit on the palate, with a finish that lasts. Perhaps the finest of a great lineup of '03 Selbach-Osters.
Tasted at Terry Theise industry tasting in Chicago.
