August 10, 2014 - 18 years of age with some stocks of 30-40 years. raisin and VA aromas. palate has much more muscle than the Florido Moscatel.

July 14, 2014 - Smells like it might be dry. Raisiny palate, with strong notes of gritty chalk. Texturally intriguing, great acid, balanced, excellent finish.

December 23, 2013 - a lil grapey for me, very versatile in cocktails though

December 11, 2013 - El Maestro horizontal flight. This PX was our middle of the road suspect in this flight, sandwiched between the Amontillado and the Oloroso. Not a very ambitious offering however I do agree with fellow trackers that this PX has a more lifted acidity and less syrupy consistency when compared with the Alvear 1927. I also prefer this style which is still sweet but not dull, having said that this had the usual sweetness, caramel, with hints of nuts. Solid showing.

August 28, 2013 - Typical PX fig, rasin, and walnut notes. As noted by others, a bit less syrupy and viscous, which makes it much nicer to drink. I'm still not totally sold on PX, but this is much more pleasant than, say, the Valdespino Candado, which is too heavy for my taste.
