November 28, 2023 - Very sweet and thick with strong apple flavors. Went very well with apple pie. Delicious over vanilla ice cream.
July 15, 2023 - Might be my first Sherry experience. Food & Wine recommendation. Dark brown color. Dominated by prunes with subtle caramel and toffee flavors. Good with cigars.
June 5, 2022 - A: Medium brown
N: Pronounced nose of molasses, dried figs, raisins, dried dates, dried pineapple, mild liquorice
P: Sweet, low acid, low alcohol (15%), medium (+) intensity, medium finish (the sugar is persisting longer than the flavor)
C: Not at all balanced between sugar and acid. cloying. Length lacking too. Good quality here. Not as crazy about this as when I first opened the bottle.
May 15, 2022 - D5 DipWSET FORTIFIED WINES - home prep: A: Medium brown
N: Pronounced nose of honey, dried dates, dried figs, molasses, raisins, prunes, bay leaf, dried pineapple
Sweet, low alcohol, full body, medium (-) acidity (surmised, perceived a bit higher), medium intensity and medium (-) finish
The alcohol isn't balancing the sugar here and it feels too cloying. The fruit is ill defined and its the sugar that persists on the finish. Some complexity here and so its a good quality wine at best.
I have had much better examples of PX. This one is disappointing but served too warm.
Not suitable for ageing. Made for consumption soon after release.
THis gives PX a bad name OR so I thought till a few days later when I tasted this at a cooler temperature. Far more balanced and less cloying

April 2, 2021 - Pure raisin juice without enough acidity to keep this from feeling way too heavy.
Sweet and varietal, but difficult to have more than a sip
September 22, 2020 - Drank over a few weeks with fairly consistent flavors. Translucent brown color with a nose of molasses and raisins. Very thick and full bodied, rich flavors of milk chocolate, caramel apple, marshmallow, dates, and raisins. Was a bit like drinking hot fudge in texture and flavor. Lengthy strong sweet finish. Enjoyable enough, but a bit too heavy for me.
September 17, 2020 - Raisins, orange peel, dates, malt extra, floral.
Nice balance on the palate, super sweet of course but nice fragrance. Perfumes and floral.
Spicy, dried fruit, very complex. Very nice.
April 27, 2018 - A private lunch (Restaurant Frantzén ***, Stockholm, Sweden): Concentrated and rich of course but also (relatively speaking) elegant and pure, with some resinous lift from the wood, toasted nuts, caramel, coffee, flowers, long.
February 17, 2017 - The winery girlz like this. Dark honey caramel aroma. Very sweet sherry, lovely as a dessert wine.
