November 20, 2023 - Best showing yet over roughly a dozen years of consuming this case. Very fresh strong acidic base. Great depth of flavor, roasted cherry fruit, herbal, cola. The earlier ripeness has evolved into a nice profile of secondaries. This bottle was going strong.

December 25, 2022 - Christmas Diner… alas… my last bottle. Deep red with strong plum aromas. Very tight when poured, an hour later, smooth flavors or black berry and plum. Well balanced. I wish I had more. .

January 23, 2022 - Retail $65? I bought three bottles of this wine online, just a couple of months shy of a decade ago, for just under $40/bottle. The first bottle was Outstanding (but a little stewed), the second was decidedly better, and this last cork? Holy cow--certainly the best of the lot. Bright, dark cherry fruit in the glass with equal parts vanilla, earth, and spice. Yowza. The palate? Even better. Maybe *much* better with rich fruit, zingy acidity, incredible balance, and a lengthy finish. Not much else to clamor for, no? Whoa.

June 4, 2020 - Retail $65. I last tasted this a year ago and it was delightful. Today? Whoa. Ramp it up a notch. After spending several minutes trying to extract the cork which broke shortly after the initiation of the extraction process and running the wine through a small sieve to avoid any chunks of cork, holy cow. While the last bottle was a bit stewed, at least initially, this bottle was singing from the jump. Black cherry, mocha, and slightly herbal, the nose here is off the charts. The palate is perhaps better: fruit, tartness, earth. Yowza. Among the best Pinots I have had this year, for sure. thedrunkencyclist.com

April 20, 2020 - I failed to take detailed tasting notes but this was an excellent bottle of Evanstad Reserve. Very fresh, structured, and still full of juicy fruit. One of the best I’ve had recently from the ‘06 vintage.

April 8, 2020 - This wine aged very well. Became much more balanced as the ripe fruit settled down. I recommend drinking now.

November 3, 2019 - Prominent oak, but integrated with the ripe fruit. Overal, enjoyable wine.

May 4, 2019 - Really nice aged Pinot. In its prime right now, but I wouldn't wait too much longer. Aged raspberry, mint, black tea. Acidity is there, but the younger Evenstads definitely seem to be a lot more acidic. This was a joy to drink. Never did it seem like this one needed acoutrement to make it better. Has the rounded character to do well alone and the acidity to drill complement food. When I thinkbof classic Willamette Pinot, this is usually it.
