June 28, 2020 - Last one I had. Super fun, old Oregon Pinot. I ha d no doubts this would be excellent, based on previous bottles. First commercial release of BDV, aside from the micro production of 1991. Still showing nice fruit, not too much OTH characteristics, with solid tannin you this day. Drank beautifully with elk/foie burgers, with humbolt fog goat cheese on pretzel buns. Fun times.

January 7, 2009 - This is a wonderful wine. It counters the belief that Oregon wines will not age. This is the first vintage for Beaux Freres. From the moment it was poured, bacon fat aromas jumped from the glass. This was coupled with tar and licorice notes. It blossomed with tell. On the palate it gained weight with time and exploded on the midpalate. It was lush balanced still with excellent fruit and acid. It went well with duck confit and gnocci. Great effort. The wine had a lot of Burgundian character.

March 22, 2008 - This bottle was a bit past its prime, but very nice nonetheless. It's color was still very red/brown, and its nose gave a hint or age. But the earthiness and the layered complexity of the fruit -- now in the decline -- was still evident.

February 26, 2002 - Nice and palate show strawberry that is clearly starting to fade. Middle and finish are more earthy than fruit-driven, and the earthiness is ok but not very clean or elegant. 2-3 years past its peak.
