  January 9, 2015 - Maybe not holding up as well as I thought it would. Definitely still has bright red fruit, but seemed a bit stewy on first opening. That blew off with a little air and it settled down and drank pretty well overall.

  July 7, 2013 - Decanted. Drinking really well right now. Still has lots of bright red/black currant fruit, with some spice. A few lingering soft tannins remain. Should have plenty of time left and could get even more complex and interesting as the fruit fades a bit and more secondary flavors develop.

  February 12, 2013 - Decanted for a good 3 hours.
  Some oak and vanilla mostly on the nose, somewhat new world!!!
  Palate shows a fair amount of oak, some spice and some black fruit. Tannins quite grippy with a medium finish!
  A bit of a bomb presently, should calm dowm in 8-10 years minimum!!!

  October 13, 2012 - initially i would have scored this 87 but after an intial taste, i sealed it up and put it in the fridge until the next night. 24hrs later it was much more enjoyable. The tart finish and harsh tannins had almost diappeared and a ncie balance of fruit, tobacco & a hint of ceadr were present.
