November 30, 2016 - Completely mature. Tannins resolved. Smooth but not fading. Definitely ready to drink. Rich and opulent. Glad I opened this tonight.
April 30, 2016 - Nice bright tart cherry flavors with a silky mouthfeel. Has shed its baby fat and has nice balance. In later stage of prime drinking window is my guess.
June 24, 2015 - WIML92
Tasted non blind.
Garnet to dark garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of birch, Kirsch, flowers and berries. Flavors of boysenberries, plums and cherries. Tangy acidity, medium tannin, full bodied. Drink with air or hold.
November 27, 2014 - Very tasty. Bright red fruits and baking spices. Great way to celebrate Thanksgiving.
August 3, 2014 - Decanted for 25 minutes. Typical Kosta Browne. Cherry and cola on palate. Long finish and silky tannins.
March 20, 2014 - Ruby color, medium depth. Nose of fresh saw dust, glycerin, floral rose pedals. Medium sweet. Low, soft tannins. Gaminess, fresh rhubarb pie with clove & strawberry preserves.
February 2, 2014 - Good but didn't live up to what I was expecting. Mostly tart cherry and boysenberry but a little thin on the body side. Had by itself. Maybe food would have helped balance.
Don't get me wrong. Still pretty good.
October 18, 2013 - Monopole: Ripe blue, black fruit; fresh, light baking spice, hint of licorice, tar, asphalt, coffee, with graham cracker and molasses for good measure. enjoyed the complexity of this and got better in the glass. 92-93
September 4, 2013 - As delicious as the last 2 bottles! Wish I had more!
February 15, 2013 - Pulled this from the cellar and decanted it. Still a little cool on first taste and wasn't showing well. Warmed up and was better. Nose of cherry, cola, raspberry and touch of rose. On the palate it had some flavors of raspberry, sour cherry, earth and a touch of blueberry. Lot of tartness on this. Finish was decent but it kind of zoned out on the mid-palate before coming back. Not my favorite KB but still a nice wine.
