April 17, 2022 - Appearance: Bright and clear, the wine is of medium ruby colour, with wide fading rims and legs.
Nose: Clean, with medium (+) intensity aromas of black fruit of blackcurrant and blackberry, dried fruit of prune, kernel notes of coffee, pungent spice of black pepper, oak notes of toast, herbal notes of mint, animal notes of leather, maturity notes of savoury. The wine is developing.
Palate: Dry with medium acidity, the wine has medium tannin of ripe and silky texture, medium (+) in alcohol and medium (+) body, with medium intensity (+) flavours of black fruit of blackcurrant and blackberry, oak notes of toast, herbal notes of mint, kernel notes of walnut, pungent spice of black pepper. The wine has a medium (+) finish.
Conclusion: Very good quality Barossa Valley Shiraz with an intense nose showing great complexity, with plenty of black fruit and prune, coffee notes and black pepper permeating, together with toasty oak, mint, leather and good savoury from development. On the palate it is well-balanced, structured and robust yet not overpowering. The flavours are concentrated with also a fairly long finish. It is ready to drink now and can maintain for another 3-5 years.

February 28, 2021 - very consistent with my last note in 2018 - dark ruby red with a brick edge - still has an effusive nose of mint, red raspberries, and subtle woody complexity - but the real beauty of the wine is the mouth, with big red fruit flavors and well resolved tannins with good acid balance - long 15-20 sec velvety finish - time has treated this shiraz well, with a softening of the earlier aggressive over-the-top style of Aussie shiraz into a more elegant, if not so complex, wine that drinks very well with food - a great example of the longevity of well-made Aussie shiraz wine

September 23, 2018 - quite consistent with my last note - dark ruby red with a brick edge - effusive nose of mint, red rasberries, and a little woody complexity - big mouth of fruit and well resolved tannins with good acid balance - long velvety finish - time has treated this shiraz well, with a softening of the earlier aggressive over-the-top style of Aussie shiraz into a more elegant, if not very complex, wine that drinks well with food (in this case a grilled steak)

September 21, 2015 - Aussie Shiraz (Edina Country Club): Pop and pour, drank a glass over about an hour. The soul of this wine is dark. It is definitely Australian, but there is an old world streak through it. There is funk on the palate and nose that blew off after about 30 minutes. Unfortunately, at that point, the wine became rather simple.
