January 24, 2014 - Bought on release and cellared. Perfect level. Opened with dinner. Rich in colour for a Riesling, smells glorious; meadows, stones, Alsace. Great balance of richness and purity, butter and minerality. Cuts through Jamon Iberico with perfect acidity. Caught between adolescence and maturity the 1990 vintage really suits this wine, albeit intense. A wine to while your life way with.

November 14, 2013 - Elegant, almost rubbery nose with very delicate and nice fruit aromas. This is actually complex with tender yellow fruit, dried, elegant herbs, and pure citrus fruit. Perfect development, but no disturbing mature notes of oil boiler!
A palate loaded with mineral and grinded stones. Elegant and pure. Absolute balance and a tremendous grip. The acidity and finish goes on and on. Medium-fullish body. Nice austere dryness. Just a hint of petrol (15%) Splendid.
We actually thought this younger (!) than the 2001 Trimbach CFE tasted blind at the same time. A very positive surprise. We tasted this 4 or 5 years ago and thought it one of the best Riesling's tasted. This keeps together in a fantastic way. Is it indestructible? And it is so much more elegant than a typical Alsace Riesling. The vintage must be one of the best. Or did Trimbach make wine in a much more austere way back in those days?

May 19, 2013 - Tasted blind, this wine had a light yellow center and clear rims. The high- intensity nose of apple cider, citrus, pineapple, and petrol was unusal and interesting.

The wine tasted notably different in the mouth than in the nose. It didn't show the apple cider and was quite crisp with a long white stone finish.

An attractive wine (close to 93 points) that is in the zone. Enjoy

April 10, 2013 - Similar themes as my prior tasting notes, but for some reason, this bottle felt a tad bit flatter. Still very interesting, very tasty, very drinkable -- but just less sharp and precise than other bottles.
