May 17, 2020 - Definitely did not feel it was over the hill.
It is a chardonnay that, right now, is over a dozen years old.
At various events at Phelps, we discovered that their Chardonnay's are quite capable of aging gracefully.
An aged chardonnay certainly tastes different. It is mellow and certainly less fruity.
What was interesting was there was a person that does not like chardonnay, but he took a taste and kept pouring more.
Anyhow, we certainly liked it
April 28, 2020 - Over the hill
May 14, 2017 - Buttery with hints of vanilla
May 13, 2011 - Crisp apple nose. Nicely balanced oak treatment. Drinking well right now.
February 26, 2011 - Would have been very good but drank a little past the window
July 21, 2009 - grass, lemon nose, tart mouth, short finish
March 27, 2009 - Very good chardonnay, smooth with very limited acidity. Buttery finish.
March 10, 2009 - Pears and fresh cut grass on the nose. Crisp and clean taste with an earthy spiciness (cumin?).
February 16, 2009 - A very strong buttery note seemed to overwhelm this otherwise excellent wine.
