    February 11, 2018 - Terrific nose with overripe mandarins, sunkissed yellow apples and lemon fruits. Attack nicely follows the nose but until the last glass a piercing salty grapefruit note was creeping up towards the back palate. Bracing acidity tickles the tongue almost forever. Still the mid to back palate was out of sync. Then approx 3-4 hours from opening, the mid palate tuned in to make tasting curve so much more to my liking. Could perhaps need a decant. Nose 94+p. Palate 91-93. Overall 92+p

    August 12, 2017 - Seems to be in its best place now, and a step up since my 12.11.2016 bottle although same features only better. Hallmarks are the wonderful nose, superb mouth feel and balance - and loong, lovely finish. Feels like it will keep at least another 12 - 18 months at its level now. Whether it will improve from there I am not sure. 94-95p.

    March 19, 2017 - Magnumbottle. Initially a bit closed. Opened up beautifully after a couple of hours. Beautiful and complex wine with notes of strawberries, honey and cinnamon. Very very elegant on the palate, long lived with great acidity and stunning balance.
    Fantastic wine.

    November 12, 2016 - Egly-Ouriet Tasting (Restaurant Gustav Zürich): I had a lot of 99's (VVF, Salon, Winston Churchill) in the last days. It shows the vinatge is better than his reputation. These wines are now at their peak. Phantastic nose, some roasted hazelnuts in the mid-palate with clean finish

    November 12, 2016 - There are some classic Egly developed notes on the somewhat funky nose: ripe red and yellow apples, hints of ginger, ripe limes and a touch of oak. The same goes for the palate, but perhaps more towards yellow fruits and adding a dash of sherry. Really rich and oxidative style. Loved it! Based on this bottle I would say drink up by 2018-19. 93-94p PS: Followed it for about 4 hours - it got more seamless and creamy with time, actually the overall balance improved steadily. Based on my first impression I would have thought that iy would go kind of the wrong way with time in the glass, but instead it pulled better together. Impressive stuff. Fantastic pairing to our Kalix bleak roe, blinins, sour cream & sprinkled red onions. 94p
