June 3, 2020 - Anniversary treat. PNP. cork perfect. Color dark with browning edges. Nose shows Dark fruit w some minty eucalyptus tinged oak and hint of bell pepper. The tannin is mostly resolved and this is really well balanced. the plummy fruit is holding this together nicely. Awesome with ribeyes.

December 20, 2016 - 1991 California Cabernet Retrospective @ The Milling Room (New York City): A pleasant surprise, still holding on with lovely herbal tones. Mint, celery seed, eucalyptus and soft, earthy red fruits. Elegant and ready to drink, if perhaps not already on a slow decline.

June 15, 2014 - Past it's prime, a great wine that is on the down hill slide. Dark red with bricking around the edges, and a lot of sediment in the bottle.

May 18, 2014 - sadly, this was corked (though the color was still quite dark, youthful)

August 25, 2013 - Opened about 3 hours before drinking and it tasted a little shut down however it really came around after those 3 hours, as this is as close to Bdx as I have ever tasted coming out of California. Everything is combined perfectly and singing right now. Light hints of earth on the nose with light cherry on the long finish.

February 2, 2013 - Deep brooding nose, with a hit of bright cherry and cassis. One of those very classically tailored bordeaux blends with a slight hit of new world ripe cherry poking through. The palate is soft tannins, a bit dry, stewed cherries, mushroom, cassis, some blueberry, cola, dusty earth, a slight herbal note, light plum, everything is integrated and singing. Loved this. One more left.

July 30, 2011 - - Garnet color with medium forming legs and aromas of mushroom. It's lacking fruit and has flavours of black pepper with a medium/full body. Smooth texture with a medium finish - Cork crumbled but was not compromised. Decanted for 30 minutes. Drank well at first but only got better and better over the next 2 hours. Reminded me of an older French Bordeaux. If properly stored should continue to be delicious for a few more years.

July 8, 2011 - Outstanding, gorgeous aged Napa cab. Needed a bit of air and would probably have been at its peak after four hours, but we didn't give it that long.

May 30, 2011 - Attractive black cherry, cassis, floral nose showing some maturity and funky green tobacco that is pretty sexy. In the mouth this has great acidity with cedar, spice, tobacco, and chocolate making an elegant, silky palate. Nice balance of power and grace, this exemplifies why old Cabernet can be so special.
