December 11, 2014 - popped and poured, unable to enjoy (raw like cheap wine, although over $30), corked back up for cooking wine, happily drank the smooth stags leap artemis instead, and the penner ash 2011 pinot noir. It was ok for cooking though, since not bad tasting, just not smooth enough for enjoyable drinking.

ok, i drank the last taste after being open 2 days and it was actually good. reminder to be patient with bordeaux wines.

edit in 2022: I was puzzled by re-reading this review of mine, until I noticed the subtle similarity between this wine name and that of the wonderful Chateau Lagrange (St Julien) 2006.

January 8, 2013 - Much more smooth than expected. Tannins present but mellow. Velvety with a tad of "feel" on the finish. Last glass in the bottle and I will not complain.

December 4, 2012 - overwhelmingly tannic and very muted on first pull.

we let it breathe in bottle for 3-4 hrs, then served from a decanter.

have to say we were very pleased with this - based on comments below, i didnt have high hopes for it. delicate perfume of ripe cherries, raspberries, cassis, new leather, toasted oak, spring flowers. unbelievable how the tannins smoothed out after a few hours - very fine textured with velvety mouthfeel that caresses the palate. rather fresh as well. look forward to trying this again in 5-7 yrs.

April 8, 2012 - hours to open. nose muted. alcohol, iodine and dark fruit body. similar short finish. early ripening in pomerol should have escaped harvest rains suffered in st. emillion...

March 17, 2012 - Académie des Cinquante Pomerol Tasting (The Hunting Lodge, Rozendaal, Netherlands): Crisp, fresh fruit, taut, lovely ripe, even velvety tannins, classic, very good quality. 2006 character very much in evidence.
