March 16, 2024 - From 375ml. Seemed to be in a nice drinking window. Ripe and red fruited, quite pleasant and easy going. Lacking the intensity and power of a grand cru--but that isn't to say this is a bad wine. It's pleasant and inoffensive with some tertiary notes implying maturity.

    Surprisingly big and ripe.
    Lovely drinking.

January 28, 2023 - Nose: black tea, dried leaves, ripe red fruits, herbal, cranberries, mung beans
Notes: coming from this vintage I do feel this is still quite energetic and less open than most of the other 07s I've had in the past. Nevertheless I can't say this is very impressive for its hype and status and certainly I would expect more from a Grand Cru and specifically this Grand Cru. Medium bodied and I'd say the wine offers a rather muted nose and nothing too exciting. Drank over 3 hours and there hasn't been significant developments within that time. A little advancement happened starting from the 4th hour but even so one can hardly say this is very interesting. Perhaps another 5 years would help with the development but today I'm quite disappointed.

November 11, 2022 - Last bottle of the case. Was somewhat excited about sharing this with friends whom I'd enjoyed three previous bottles with. Sadly this was buggered - heat damage I think.

September 22, 2022 - Medium depth of colour, but a dark hue; elegant, mature fruit, some strawberry plus darker fruits, with good acidity and length. Now mature, but fresh enough to last for 5 years or so. Good weight and richness for a wine from a lighter vintage. An excellent grand cru.

March 12, 2022 - In line with earlier note - red berries and floral with some maturing notes. Elegant and balanced. Possibly at peak now and will stay at this plateau for a while.

November 27, 2021 - Showing really well at the moment. Fully open and ready to go. Impressive for an “off vintage” of red burg. This version had a lot of black tea notes both on the nose and pallet. Otherwise a pretty similar flavor profile as Burghound mentions. Suggest drinking over the next 10 max, and no reason not to drink now.

April 17, 2021 - Muted nose which then opened up with notes of black cherries. Acidic and hard on the palate with bitter back taste. not much change after 1.5 hour and this was probably an off bottle I hope. I drank less than half, saving the rest for tomorrow. Total let down after the 2009 which was gorgeous.
