Community Tasting Notes 5

March 12, 2019 - This was singing right out of gate. Was concerned after there was leakage from cork, but no issues. crunchy and mature fruit with a healthy kiss of acidity. Very, very good.

July 25, 2018 - Funky and stinky on the nose. Some roasted tobacco. A touch of tomato weirdness Les notes. Yet way more tannic structure than you expect.

February 8, 2018 - This was soulful and honest wine. Touch of acidity on start, medium body, tar and earth shows. Clearly Barbera but none of the jammy overdone qualities you can sometimes get. Still quite alive though probably wouldn’t hold much longer.

March 15, 2009 - Big fruity wine dominated by cherries and red fruit. Some leather. Some oak. Some menthol. In a blind test, I might even mistake this for a new world cab from one of the more subdued producers. Essentially a well-made fruit bomb. I'm going to disagree with the other commenter and say this is nowhere near done. I don't think it's built for long term aging, but it's got at least 3 years in it. Went well with a lasagna bolognese.

February 15, 2009 - Menthol and thin tasting. Great color but it's at the end of it's drinkability window. It's got a bit of a borderline vinegar taste. it's not corked but does have some minor corked qualities.
